SAFAVIEH CHOSEN AS DESIGNERS’ BEST 2007 FOR REPRODUCTION AND ANTIQUE RUGS IN H&G SURVEY OF TOP US DESIGN TALENT

New York – Safavieh has been recognized as one of the country’s top ten designer resources for antique and reproduction area rugs in House & Garden’s Best '07 survey. An unprecedented 20,000 decorators and architects [and kitchen and bath professionals] participated in the research study, billed by the magazine as the most important directory of up-market home products ever created.

“We are pleased to be in the company of names like Doris Leslie Blau, Sotheby’s and other bastions of luxury in fine rugs,” said Arash Yaraghi, principal of Safavieh. “The design community has relied on Safavieh to use its expertise, knowledge, and archives of fine antique oriental carpets to develop high quality reproductions. The support of the design community has led to our leadership in both custom and hand-knotted programmed collections for rug retailers,” Yaraghi said.
The new directory has been described by Joseph Lagani, vice president and publisher of House & Garden as a virtual Who’s Who of the design world featuring the best goods, people and places for upscale home products. “The key difference is that the sources were chosen by America’s leading designers,” Yaraghi explained.

Revealing their top trade secrets, including where they shop, what they love and whom they trust were A-list designers like Jamie Drake, Alexa Hampton, Lars Bolander and Mario Buatta to name a few. “When we opened our doors on Madison Avenue in the 1970’s designers were our primary customers; working with top names in the field has helped us create collections geared for today’s lifestyle consumers and decorating trends,” Yaraghi said.

The Designer’s Best '07 survey included 300 questions encompassing 14 product categories. The published results are printed in a Zagat-style guide, to give luxury consumers and trade buyers exclusive access to the most valuable resources in home design.
