Migrating
Turkish nomads of Oushak created fabulous tribal designs. To finish before
the tribe moved on, they used few colors, simple designs, extra thick
yarn and large Turkish-style knots. Their colors were limited to a few
earthy tones and vibrant reds, and the thick yarn provided for larger
motifs which allowed little detail.
SAFAVIEH
recreated these magnificent tribal rugs with the finest, hand-spun wool
yarn, processed with a special wash to reproduce the sheen acquired over
time by the antique Oushaks.
