PORT WASHINGTON, NY – Jonathan Yaraghi has been named manager of Safavieh’s wholesale furniture division. Yaraghi is the first third-generation member to join the company's management. In his new post, he will report to Michael Yaraghi, a company principal.
"Although he will continue to learn every aspect of the business, Yaraghi's focus will be to act as liaison for product development between the Safavieh sales force and our overseas manufacturing operations,” said Michael Yaraghi.
The son of Cyrus Yaraghi, Jonathan Yaraghi joined the family business in late 2005 after graduating from Syracuse University in New York with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. During the past three years he has been assigned to customer service, warehousing operations, marketing, website development, and to various areas of the company’s wholesale furniture business which is marketed as Safavieh Home Furnishings.
In a separate announcement, Arash Yaraghi explained that beginning at the Las Vegas market, the Safavieh area rug sales force will sell furniture to existing and new accounts in their territories. "
"Jonathan Yaraghi will liaise between the sales force on furniture issues the same way Cyrus Yaraghi and I work with them on rugs to meet customer’s needs for product development and special programs," Arash Yaraghi said, noting that his nephew would be traveling to vendors in Asia regularly.
"I will be learning from two of the most respected forces in the furniture business: my uncle Michael Yaraghi and Joe Murphy, our director of design and product development," said Jonathan Yaraghi. "I am very happy to accept this new challenge."
